Our generation speaking out.(Men's XP)

Here are some things that we want y'all to understand,

1) We may look like confused souls and we may not have a clue about what we want to be at the moment, but we'll figure it out, eventually. Everyone does. It will all fall into place. We'll make something out of our lives and we'll make you proud - just give us some time.(and trust us too)

2)  Just because our generation dates more people than you ever thought in your youth, doesn't mean we're a bunch of frivolous, materialistic and shallow youngsters. We, too, value relationships just as much as you do, just that we're not afraid to walk out when things don't work out.

3)  What is different is not necessarily wrong. We may disagree with your set of ethics and morals, but that doesn't mean we're uncultured. It just means we have a different set of beliefs. Times change and so does the mindset.

4)  Life was hard for you, we agree. But it hasn't been any easier for us. We may have benefited from your experience and struggle but life is equally difficult for us, in a hundred other ways that you may not have ever experienced.

5) We're adults too(Teens ;)  ). Yes, our company does play an important role but we don't get influenced by just about anything and everything happening around us. We have a mind of our own.

6) We may love to party all night or hang out with our friends the whole day, but that doesn't mean we're irresponsible. We're more worries about ourselves, our careers and our savings than anyone else, be assured of that. We can take care of ourselves well.

7)  Drinking, partying or wearing certain kind of clothes say nothing about our character. Not everyone who drinks and parties sleeps around. All of us aren't the same.

8) We may or may not identify with and conform to social norms as easily as you. But that shouldn't create a rift between us. What should matter is how much we love you, despite all the differences.

9) We cannot be living life on someone else's experiences. Even though we respect your wisdom and guidance, there are certain things in life we want to figure out on our own, even at the cost of making mistakes. Realizations will come when they will. We don't intend to disobey you; we're just trying to live life on our own terms.

10) We do not agree with a lot of things you do, but we don't expect you to change, and neither should you ask us to wear blinders and think exactly like you. The generation gap may make it hard for you to cope with our lifestyles and beliefs, but all we need is acceptance and trust. That's all it takes to strengthen the bond.

11) We know there are times when you really want to support our life decisions but don't, because of the fear of being judged by the society. You may not agree with our decisions but we know, you understand. So, just let go. We're a team, and who cares what anyone else thinks?

12) However much you may hate to do so, you have to set us free once we come of age. The more obsessive you become about protecting us, more are the chances of us straying and lying to you. The more you try to control someone, the more rebellious they become. Know that there will come a time where we will be taking our own decisions that may or may not comply with your agreement, and that nobody has the control over anyone else's life.

Big thanks to Men's XP for writing such a wonderful article.
On a parting note,
A thought.
An optimist is someone who figures that taking a step backward, after taking a step forward is not a disaster, it's more like Cha-Cha.

Deception.

"People change" He said
"Deception" she said.
They were both searching for the faint line of differnce  between these words.
"She was fair , beautiful" he said.
Was she beautiful by heart? She asked.
There was rapt silence.
"He was strong and had a delicate heart" she said. "What happened " he asked
"He left the world" she said
"Im sorry , but you didn't know about what was wrong" he asked surprisingly
She smiled "deception has no form" she said.

Conversation with God.

* Conversation With God *
Q. What were you doing just before you died?
A. I was hanging from the ceiling fan and struggling to breathe. The rope had started to cut into my neck. I should have opted for a cloth instead of that nylon rope.
Q. Why did you hang yourself?
A. I was not able to live up to my parent's expectations. I scored poorly in my exams and was unable to get into any decent engineering college.
Q. Okay. Who did you leave behind?
A. My father and my mother.
Q. Do you think your life was complete?
A. Sir, it's funny you should ask this question. I was 17. All I ever did was my assignments, class notes, extra classes, tuitions and JEE coaching. So you see, I was not exactly a ripe candidate for death.
Q. So why did you do it?
A. I guess I just could not take all the stress.
Q. If I give back your life to you, how would you spend it differently?
A. I will focus on my passions. I used to paint quite well as a kid. I would pick up the paintbrush again and channelize my energy towards that. I will star far away from fake goals that I had to swallow down my throat. So, are you giving me another life?
* Poof! *
I disappear, leaving the poor sufferer shocked. But he should have known, has anyone ever got a second life?

Girl.

Praised for being a Goddess,
Cursed for being a girl.
Praised for being intellectual,
Cursed for being a girl.
Praised for being a man's support,
Cursed for behaving like a man for her own family.
Praised for being herself,
Cursed because she was being judged for being so.
Bold words praised and cursed aren't they?
Just like a girl who couldn't even save herself from the wrath even though she was praised as a Goddess.
Just like a girl who didn't lose her life, but dignity.
Just like a girl who lives with all the rumors spread by people.
Just like one of you girls, who before sleeping lock the door and try to think something other than being a target.
Just like a girl, who knows that it's not easy to get up when you fall.
In the end she's a girl, Just like YOU.

Music Midas- Tera Farishta

Music Midas.A growing, music group with it's Soulful songs. It is  made by the teachers and students of R.B.K School (Mira Road). Known to Mumbai, as the runner up of Voices 2014 competition, this group has surely proved that, with passion and determination, one can achieve all. The best part about this group is many of it's members are still in their early teens, but after listening to their voice, I was unsure if it was them or Shreya Ghoshal.

Music Midas with it's latest release, Tera Farishta, a song reaching out to every individual, making it real clear, that Children are nothing else but blessings of the divine. Again, this song has been sung by Gargi Borah, Smyrna Sagalgile, Nishi Khandelwal and Mala Soren.
Music:- Sonu Abraham.
Lyrics:- Alok Shukla, Kushzraj Mehra.
This song shows us, in this Race, race for success, Children are being neglected. Trust me, if you have money and a great life, let me tell you your life is useless, because the amount of time, you spend in earning that piece of paper, you lose time with loved ones. Money will buy anything except time. It's time you stop living/working for money and start living for your loved ones. God gave you a child for a reason, he thought you are the one who can take care of his treasure. Do not disappoint him.

A college student who could'nt make it to JEE Advanced posts this on quora.

A college dropper, and as someone who could not get through JEE Advanced, took to Quora to find a reason to “live”. The anonymous person asked

[2015’s IIT JEE cut offs were 105, whereas 2014’s cut offs were 152. We’re assuming that this question was asked a year back.]

The perfect reply came from Arpit Kubadia, which says how there are more important things worth living for than an exam. Here’s the complete answer:

I’ll tell you a story
Imagine this.
You come home after getting your results . It was really horrible (or you think so) . You’re just ready to give up.
So you go to your room, close the door, and write down  a suicide note
You take out those razor blades, and cut for the very last time.
You grab that bottle of pills and take them all. Laying down, holding the letter to your chest, you close your eyes for the very last time.
A few hours later, your little brother knocks on your door to come tell you that the dinner is ready. You don’t answer, so he walks in. All he sees is you laying on your bed, so he thinks you’re asleep.
He tells this to your mom.
Your mom goes to your room to wake you up. She notices something is odd. She grabs the paper in your hand and reads it.
Sobbing, she tries to wake you up.
She’s screaming your name.
Your brother, so confused, runs to go tell Dad that “Mummy is crying and sissy won’t wake up.”
Your dad runs to your room.
He looks at your mom, crying, holding the letter to her chest, sitting next to your lifeless body. It hits him, what’s going on, and he screams. He screams and throws something at the wall. And then, falling to his knees, he starts to cry.
Your mom crawls over to him, and they sit there, holding each other, crying, weeping with tears.
The next day at school, there’s an announcement. The principal tells everyone about your suicide. It takes a few seconds for it to sink in, and once it does, everyone goes silent.
Everyone blames themselves.
Your teachers think they were too hard on you.
Those mean popular girls, they think of all the rubbish things they’ve said to you.
That boy that used to tease you and call you names, he can’t help but hate himself for never telling you how beautiful you really are.
Your ex boyfriend, the one that you told everything to, that broke up with you… He can’t handle it. He breaks down and starts crying, and goes out of the school.
Your friends? They’re sobbing too, wondering how they could never see that anything was wrong, wishing they could have helped you before it was too late.
And your best friend? She’s in shock.
She can’t believe it.
She knew what you were going through, but she never thought it would get that bad.
Bad enough for you to end it.
She can’t cry, she can’t feel anything. She stands up, walks out of the classroom, and just sinks to the floor.
Shaking, screaming, but no tears coming out.
It’s a few days later, at your funeral. The whole town came.
Everyone knew you, that girl with the bright smile and bubbly personality.
The one that was always there for them, the shoulder to cry on.
Lots of people talk about all the good memories they had with you, there were a lot.
Everyone’s crying, your little brother still doesn’t know you killed yourself, he’s too young.
Your parents just said you died. It hurts him, a lot.
You were his big sister, you were supposed to always be there for him.
Your best friend, she stays strong through the entire service, but as soon as they start lowering your casket into the ground, she just loses it. She cries and cries and doesn’t stop for days.
It’s two years later. The whole school talks to a counsellor therapist at least once a week.
Your teachers all quit their job.
Those mean girls have eating disorders now.
That boy that used to tease you cuts himself.
Your ex boyfriend doesn’t know how to love any more and just sleeps around with girls.
Your friends all go into depression.
Your best friend? She tried to kill herself.
She didn’t succeed like you did, but she tried.
Your brother? He finally found out the truth about your death.
He self harms, he cries at night, he does exactly what you did for years leading up to your suicide.
Your parents? Their marriage fell apart.
Your dad became a workaholic to distract himself from your death.
Your mom got diagnosed with depression and just lays in bed all day.
People care.
You may not think so, but they do.
Some of your choices don’t just affect you.
They affect everyone.
Don’t end your life, you have so much to live for.
Now talking about your father; don’t you think he will prefer a non-IITian child over a dead child?
You will get another chance
He can still come back from this
But there’s no coming back from death
And more importantly
No doubt that his parents will be mad at him for low marks
But if he does this.. It will break them.
Ask him
If he’s willing to deal with this problem.. Not for anyone.. But his parents..
Be honest with him
Life won’t be a breeze now
People will look down at him
And his parents will also be mad in the beginning
But If he succeeds the next time… In anything not necessarily this..
Then all WILL be forgotten.”
So why do this to yourself when you can write, swim, dance, sing, paint, orate, run business with out of the box ideas, fall in love, find a friend you can pour your heart out and talk until dawn, live in your dream home, fly to Athens or take a hike in Rishikesh (or where ever you have always longed to), work up the adrenaline and go bungee jumping, and all that keeps your heart saying let’s live more. Why reach a stage where you are sitting in an office consumed by drapetomania (strong urge to run away) when you can make a career choice that satisfies your soul, gives you opportunities to excel, and have you rise in what you love to do.

Life is tough and making career decisions tougher, but then again, it is tougher. Not impossible.

Depends on your perception. -Guest Post.

Depends on your perception.
Everything has two sides, good and bad.
Everything depends on how you perceive it, whether you're optimistic or pessimistic. Two people see differently when a glass half filled with water is placed, one sees a half full glass, the other a half empty glass.
Some people feel that the grass is greener on the other side, some believe that they have the greener side. Some see the golden edge to the sword, some see the silver edge.
There is nothing as 'ugly'. A person who thinks that a certain person, or a certain place, or anything is 'ugly', his perception about the thing/person/place/whatever changes. Now, no matter how much people try to convince him the other way around, he'll still see it as ugly. There's beauty in everything, you just have to open your eyes.
Now, let me tell you a story,
There was a girl, in her early twenties. She was a workaholic, and viewed money as the only solace. She believed in wealth, and that a person is rich only when he/she can buy anything with money. She wanted that rich lifestyle, the clothes, the houses, the cars, and possibly anything that money could buy. It took her to fall in love with a boy who was broke, homeless, but had a heart of gold, and an amazing voice to see the richness of a person without money.
Somehow later in the story she is fired from her job, has to sell her house and cars to pay off the loans, and is totally broke.
She had to work as a watiress in a bar, clean tables for a meal, and do work she'd never done before. She then grows to despise money for she's seem what are the negative effects of it.
There's a lot more to the story, but I'll end it here, because I explained my point.
I am not saying that money is bad, but everything needs to be in proportion. And every little thing depends on how you think of it. So, think positive, attract positive energy, send good vibes, and be happy in life.
There is no way a person can be happy, even if he has the tiniest amount of negativity in him.
Be good to yourself and to others around you. What you do, comes back at you someday. Believe in karma, and be influential, positively.
Thank you.

Loneliness.-Guest Post

‘I feel so lonely man.(sigh).period. It’s as if no one’s there for me. It’s as if people do not give a damn about what I think, I feel and, what I really want .I feel empty.’’
Don’t these words sound familiar??Doesn’t it look like we have heard these words before?  Or rather , I should say, isn’t it as if WE might have said these words to ourselves??
Yeah. We all know how it feels. We all know how it feels to be neglected, especially by a person who WE feel is close to us. The only problem is, how do we deal with it??
There is a famous quote said by a famous person “One feels lonely only  if he is lonely from the mind”. It’s definitely true, but, we teens are always so confused that instead of solving this problem, we just keep on thinking about it and then , just leave it as it is.

So guys, please, it’s a request to all of you that never think that you are lonely. You need to understand the fact that , no one is going to be there  for you every time. There is no 24hour service available .Mind you, people have got a lot of stuff to handle than your problems. You need to understand that no one knows  you better  than yourself, and  so, its you who has to solve your problem.

Just stay in touch, my friend!-Guest Post.

Keeping in touch with friends after school has ended is a pretty tough task. Normally, a person stays in touch with hardly ten to eleven friends from school. The rest are either forgotten, or you've been tolerating them for your school-life, that you just want to forget them and move on with your life. Or there are some very special people, whom you just want to meet up and hang out eith, but the timing is very wrong, and planned hangouts seem to go down the drain.
All those promises of meeting up regularly, or hanging out someday are just ignored, and you don't miss almost anybody.
You meet people from coaching classes, school, hangout places, and in this age of technology, hundreds of different applications allow you to chat and text other people, including voice mails, face to face chatting, sending pictures, texting and so much more. Yet, there are only a handful of people, you talk to them on every social networking site possible. That is more of, 'being in touch with the same person over and over again'. Seems a bit funny, but that's the way it is.
Meeting new people and letting the old ones go is a part of life, but a wise person moves on higher in the choice of wise friends and good company.
-Vaishnavi Sanap.

Just because of my clothes a little above my knee?

He moved with every step of mine
Thinking i wouldnt notice my line
Being my shadow in the dark
As i walked across the empty park

Is this a free country for women?
Just because of my clothes a little above my knee?
I have to pay such a high fee?
Is this what my country's future is going to be?

I hurried across the park
As it grew even dark
The dog following me didnt even bark.
I just had passed the shriveled arc

I saw him staring over and over again
How could i possibly refrain?
Sadly this is what a girls situation is
India should be responsible for this
One day every woman should be able to live in bliss

Is this a free country for women?
Just because of my clothes a little above my knee?
I have to pay such a high fee?
Is this what my country's future is going to be?

Make a country where no woman should have to reminisce
And a man should be responsible for his doings
And think twice as it is the country's name which he is screwing.

I would also like to share something which I really think was beautifully captured by the students of Whistling Woods International' is this video which portrays what I'm trying to say here even better.
Please do watch this. It is completely worth the minute. This video is a step towards introducing healthy feminism in mankind and a more prosperous country for women to live in.

-A tantalizing Paradox. Beautiful Anushka, Beautiful :)

Loss of culture Due to Globalization.- Anushka Raj

India is a land of diversity in race, region, caste, language, landform, flora and fauna and so on. From ancient time till day India has captured this diversity . Therefore India has rightly been termed as "the epitome of the world." The fundamental diversity in India is gleaned from the very moto of India that is, 'Unity In Diversity'.The main theme of this culture is unity which absorbs all the diversities indeed!

India is complex, and this is from an Indian! You have to live it to understand it. Tradition and culture in India are things that haven't changed for centuries and are practiced without question. And since Indians have been ready to accept most changes, almost everything we do has, by default, become tradition. In this context, when change occurs, however minute, we Indians feel that we are eroding our traditional values.
One example, of many such millions, would be the headgear of the people of Rajasthan, a desert state of India. Here, men wrap several meters of cloth on their heads to form a turban. This would obviously have been to protect their heads from the scorching heat. Now this head gear, cumbersome and impractical as it is, is being replaced by caps. And Indians are crying hoarse about their loss of tradition and culture to western ideas. Moreover, great and graceful dances like the Bharatnatyam have been forgotten very easily as it isnt considered as something fresh and new to the eyes. Youngsters find it boring and senseless instead of looking at the beauty and sublimity of the dance form. Why so? Is our country so westernized that it has forgotten its own moral values and code of conduct?

However another was of looking at this situation is , if we stop westernization completely and only use Indian products , Indian morals and vales and Indian culture and accounts back to the beginning of our era then maybe we can restore some culture and tradition that got lost in the decades where India itself didnt know what it was upto! But on the contrary can we stay without using Western Products like shampoos, chocolates or the usual Mcdonalds ? Can we stay without a crunchy chicken wing from KFC or a cheesy melt in the mouth pizza ? Makes you salivate at the very thought of it , eh?
Can we stay without watching Fast and Furious series, or maybe Twilight series or your favorite actor from the Hollywood? Obviously not! Can you even think of going to a pub and dancing Bharatnatyam there to fresh edm hits ?Can you think of not knowing Salsa or Hip Hop in today's world? Can you think of reading vedas and transcripts instead of reading Sidney Sheldon, Jeffrey Archer or Daniel Steel? Yes , India is indeed westernizing. The is because India is a developing country and even if we think of only using domestic products which are in house;how long can we sustain? Afterall , India has most employment in the Primary sector in fields like agriculture and mining. Thus healthy westernization is important for this growing economy as it is a part of Globalization in the end.

Anushka, is a teen who loves to write. This post is one of her own ramblings :D

Trolls.

Times are boring indeed, and we need some laughter, I picked up some of the trolls I found on the internet. Have a good one. :)

Mom

She's love portrayed in a single body,
She's always there when there's nobody
She's been beside you through thick and thin,
She doesn't show when she's hurt, but always cries within,
She doesn't exist in your world,
SHE IS YOUR WORLD.
She prays for you, even though she is not with you.
SHe's the shade.
She's the sunshine.
She gives you power.
No matter how much you earn,
You always bow down to her,
She's your guide, mentor and love.
She's your mom. :)
